Acceptance is Key.

Whether you give a crap or not, I’m getting a little political for once. I try and refrain from giving my opinions about anything on social media or anywhere else because who knows (and more importantly, WHO CARES) if they are valid, educated or correct observations. But for once I’m going to give my two sense (Or maybe three or four-hey, why not, it’s almost the weekend!).

In today’s day and age, politics=turmoil, that’s a fact, at least in a social aspect. But no one seems to stop and think that it may not completely be Donald Trump’s fault. Hey-I said not completely…even his supporters know it’s pretty much his fault.

Maybe the problem is us and our inability to accept others opinions, even if they don’t line up with our own. People are so quick to jump on their computers or cell phones and stream into the world their every little thought, and that’s not as nessecarily as bad or wrong as everyone thinks it is. Think about it. Can we associate politics without the internet at all? Sure, the media is basically the only source of getting our information about the government happenings, but social media has allowed us to gather information without doing the research.

After perusing my Facebook feed this morning, I saw at least 4 political posts in one log on, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with. However, when stumbling across a post about lack of information due to the ability of American’s to read headlines and not collect facts, I began to wonder, isn’t posting about the lack of further investigation of news just feeding into that theory?

Whether you want to believe it or not, everyone’s opinions are correct. Why? Because they’re opinions. They are not facts. They are not going to change anything. What will change things is being educated beyond your own twitter feed, and being strong enough to hold your own opinions without the need of them being validated. What will change things is being accepting, and smart, and kind. What will change things is not only recognizing that opinions are just opinions, but that people are entitled to them no matter what. After all, isn’t that what democracy is all about?

I’m not saying that writing this post is going to make a difference in anything whatsoever, I just thought it was an interesting perspective for those who give a crap to listen.

PS. Joe Biden memes are hysterical. That is a fact, not an opinion.
