I’m not Kylie Kosmetics, and I have no right to be giving makeup advice. but I am trying to get more into fashion/beauty blogging.

Especially during the summer, my use of makeup fluctuates dramatically. One day I will do my makeup in five minutes, the next I will take forty, and the day after that I may not be wearing makeup at all. It really all depends on my mood or effort of creativity. While I love a fresh face to clear up your skin on a sunny day, I am becoming a sucker for a good highlighter and discovering the magic of contour.

Here are the five best makeup products I have discovered this year, for those who are really not all that into makeup.

1. NYX Professional® Makeup Honey Dew Me Up Primer

Not only can you not beat the price, but you can get it anywhere and it works better than my best highlighter.

    2.  TOO FACEDSweet Peach Glow Peach-Infused Highlighting Palette

    Everyone needs orange blush in the summer.

3. Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette

Basic, yet extremely necessary. Everyone needs a neutral palette. I use it multi-purposefully.

4. Julianne Moore’s L’Oreal Lipstick (if you can find it), if not, here’s a good alternative. 

 

5. L’Oreal Carbon Black Telescopic Mascara 

I’m not picky about mascara, but this is the only thin brush mascara I’ve tried and I’ve never gone back.
