We never lose our keys at the right moment, always when we’re running late.
We never lose our phones when nobody is supposed to call.
Our favorite jeans are never dirty until we want to wear them out.
We never love when we’re supposed to.
I’m not in love, but at least I can write, and at least I want to share.
It’s not convenient, but it never is.
“I’m in love with you. And not in a mellow dramatic lets be together all the time, forever, and drop everything type of way. In a totally petrifying, consuming, throwing a wrench in every plan I thought I ever had type of way. A major inconvenience, is what it is. You did this on purpose, or you didn’t. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that it didn’t come when it should have, or when it was the right moment. It’s not convenient, being in love with you, but it never is, even if it should be. Convenience is never really all that worried about any of us like we’re worried about it, is it? Convenience and fate don’t necessarily make sure all of their plans line up. But then again, that’s where you come in. You come in, with all of your inconvenience, wrong moments, and exactly when you shouldn’t have. You come in, and I’m in love with you.”
That’s just a lesson from every romantic comedy I’ve ever watched.
I’m not in love or anywhere near it, but imagine how well I’d write if I was. *wink wink*
