There are a lot of things a person can do with $51,000. You can buy a car—a really nice car. You can buy a house—A really small house. You can buy a boat—a fast one. For Melania Trump, aka Mrs. Donald Trump, aka the First Lady, aka Mrs. President, aka whatareyoudoingwithhimyouhavesomuchpotentialbutIdigress, she chose to spend it a certain way—on a jacket. A singular jacket. While that seems slightly disgraceful (The media reported that’s only $10,000 shy of the average Australian salary and that my friends is NOT fake news), for true fashion lovers, there are much worse ways to spend the money.
Melania stepped out in a colorful floral Dolce and Gabbana coat as she arrived in Sicily on May 26th. And what better way to arrive in D & G’s home country of Italy than to say, “I’m here and I can probably afford this whole country with just what’s in my wallet”. Many were appalled at the extravagance, but as a lover of details and bold prints, I have to say it was nothing short of absolute fabulousness.
While Mrs. President could have spent the money on other things such as donating it to charity or buying, oh I don’t know, about five hundred ten regular costing coats, she chose to spend it on glam. And a certain glam, I may add, that needs no introduction. Sporting a coat so fabulous that it put many Met Gala ensembles to shame, Melania Trump sent the world the message on Friday that said: “If I have to live out my days married to Donald Trump, I may as well look good doing it.”
