So it’s been almost a week since Oscargate and we’re still all just as confused as you, Warren Beatty. Drama aside, it’s about time to talk dresses. The Oscar’s are one of the biggest nights for couture, so it’s safe to assume women (and men-I see you Ryan Gosling) are going to be taking some risks.
In my opinion, the Academy Awards embody the height of class, so it’s safe to assume I prefer looks that fit that classic criteria, but there were some that surprised me. If you give a crap about fashion, here were my top 10 Oscar fashion moments, good and bad.
- Emma Stone. It’s only fair that Hollywood’s Best Actress is the best dressed. The epitome of old Hollywood glam.

- AND Viola Davis. Classic.

- Nicole Kidman—You can tell she didn’t stick to the playbook. Following your stunning Golden Globes ensemble, I was disappointed when you looked like a trendy throw pillow.

- Halle Berry- If 13 year old me could pick an Oscar dress made from things only in my dress up box, this would be it. It works.

5. Hailee Steinfeld-If Nutella was a dress, this would be the dress–a girl’s dream.
6. Karlie Kloss. Very Gwyneth. Best accessories hands down. Wayta keep it Klassy and Klassic, Kloss.
7.Leslie Mann. This woman is Hollywood’s mom, and I don’t just say this because people say she looks like my mom. I love the classic, Cinderella-like ball gown mixed with a fun color. She could have ended up looking like a waterlogged lemon, but Leslie Mann is so cute she can pull off anything.
8. Kirsten Dunst-You can never go wrong with classic black and a classic look.
9.Jessica Biel-She wins for relationship goals, but “Zookeeper gone rogue” is too risky for me and the Academy.

10. Dakota Johnson-I appreciate the effort, but as my roommate summed it up: “Victorian hoe”.
