The period of time between move in day, Halloween, and Christmas (Hallowthanksmas), tends to go pretty fast for just about anyone. By the time the excitement of a summer wears off and people get excited about wearing cute boots again, the end of August to beginning of October is already gone. But no one knows how fast the period of time between move and day and midterms goes more than a college student. You have a new year, new housing, new party scene to seek out and are enjoying not having any real work yet. And then, before you even have a chance to duck, midterms hit you out of no where like the Dominos guy on the highway. You’ve landed in Stress Town but the good thing is you’re in college so the population is high. So as I pack up my things to go home for fall break (Marist, does giving us a singular Friday off really cut it as a “break” to you?), I’m amazed that I am already one fourth way done my sophomore year. In case you’re interested (I’m assuming you’re interested, because, well…..hi.) I’ve strung up what I’d like to call Syllabus Week (or as we white girls call it, Sylly Week) to Midterms Week: As told by New Girl. And if you’re not interested, does it look like I give a crap?

–When your professor goes over the syllabus the first day and says “Attendance counts towards your grade.

-When the work hasn’t piled on yet and you can go out any night you want. 

-And after a week of going by that philosophy you can’t even afford the water to make the ramen.
